So after years of not listening to members and supporters about the need to strengthen the batting rather than the bowling with their choice of overseas signings, the club's last three overseas signings have been international Aussie batsmen.
They have scored 29 runs:
Maxwell 1 and 5, Burns 10, Lehmann 8 and 5.
Joe Mennie averaged over 30 with the bat last season.
Wonder who will play the next game?

Lehmann now has a squad number 64 which could suggest he may be here a bit longer

I'd imagine that he'll be playing in the games that Burns was originally penciled in for.

Updated .... but still only scored 29 runs now in six innings.
It's going to rival Hameed's record last year, if they are not careful.
Has Lehmann really been given a contract till after the world cup on the basis that he was in the country .... playing cricket for Reigate Priory, and had previously played one day cricket for us? There must be better players in the Lancashire leagues?

Overseas 2022. When will we hear what is planned? There have been a lot of announcements from other counties but all we have heard is a signing for the T20. Chilton is quoted as saying he had to keep his nerve while IPL and other commitments become clear. It seems likely we will now have Jimmy and Saqib early season so perhaps a batsman? Are there any decent batsmen available or have they been signed up elsewhere?
Allott is of course a consultant on this issue

He will arrive at Emirates Old Trafford on 1 April and will be in contention to make his English county debut against Kent at Canterbury on 14 April. Hassan will be available until after Lancashire’s match against Essex which starts on 19 May at Emirates Old Trafford.
So first six matches.
If the IPL story is to be believed they must gave been tracking someone else aswell.
The lancs website off to a good start misspelling his name, compared with cricinfo, cricketarchive etc.
Think you can take it as read Vilas is the other. |

Quality player but not necessarily what the squad needs. At the start of the season could be picking from: Hasan, Anderson, Wood, Mahmood, Bailey, Lamb and Parkinson for 5 spots.
Second thoughts, I can imagine that not many te4ams will make triple figures against Anderson, Hasan and Bailey in April.

Everyone except the Lancashire comms team seem to be reporting that they have signed Washington Sundar for the RL50 and 3 county championship matches.
Thoughts, anyone? (on the player not the lack of communication).

Thoughts, anyone? (on the player not the lack of communication). Very very good player, and just what we need in the 50 over comp with his IPL bowling stats. Has a test batting average of 66 too(only a 4 game sample size). |

By all accounts they aren’t picking him on the India vs England white ball squads because they want him to play red ball cricket for us. Games at Southport and Northants where I think we’ll play 2 spinners |
