Is the ECB getting rid of one of it's main sources of revenue by selling the Hundred teams? I assume all future TV money, ticket sales, etc will go to the new owners. The counties are going to get a cash windfall but once that is spent on reducing debt, ground improvements, recruiting players surely they are going to be in a worse financial situation. I hope I'm missing something.

I hope I'm missing something. Re Revenue the figures for the 2023 Manchester Originals season won't be available until October this year but the 2022 figures showed a very small return on turnover. I think the ECB will perhaps look to retain and invest the receipts rather then one single pay out to a County. That would allow an increase in the annual subsidy to the Counties and perhaps allow assitance in capital projects e.g. if Worcester have to relocate.If Lancs retain their 51% then they will get 51% of the profits and 51% of the costs. |
