Not surprised a lack of recent game time would come back to bite Rainford in the behind. Still been a good season so far, hopefully the defeat will sharpen the minds.

Predictable result at Rainford, but having let ourselves down with the bat, we did compete in the field and one more wicket fifteen runs earlier would , I think have made it a nail biting finish . I would have backed leg spinner Jason Login to have gone through the lower order. He bowled really well and was desperately unlucky not to get more wickets.
The turning point was the dismissal of Harsh who was batting beautifully followed a couple of balls later by the mad run out of John Dotters.

Indeed MickeyG. Rainford in only their second season in Premier League have done really well to be up there . The top two are that stretch ahead but neither of them will ever be complacent against this Rainford team now. We’ve actually won two of the last three clashes with Northern in various types of cricket though Northern won the league game.

No point in giving table yet as it shows Northern and Leigh with a game in hand.
A very poor Rainford display led to a very exciting game against a spirited New Brighton team who have some good young players who would benefit from being a division lower for a season. We were very poor in the field. I’m confident we will rise to the occasion next Saturday home to Northern. The last four games between the two have all been thrillers and it is two each. Northern have the form but I am confident we will compete.
Similar could be said about Rainhill who showed the futility of packing a team with pros when they don’t come off .
