Would like to know what Croft was saying at Moores at the very end.
Naturally the camera work and Scott Read might as well have been at Trent Bridge, missed it completely.Attachments:

Winning this game easily until Allen got out. Very noticeable that Allen and Jennings played themselves in for a couple of overs before trying to go big. If Davies had done the same, it would have been our best performance of the tournament so far and that against a very strong side.

Made a mess of that! Jennings was excellent and Allen very good but let them back in when he got out. We learned in the middle you can get 8 or 9 an over without any risks if you push the ball into areas for twos then get singles off th rest. When you put away the hitable balls as well a run chase is alot more manageable.
Davies and Vilas need to get their heads together or let Croft move up as he was our no 3 last year.
No game until next Friday after 5 games in 8 days seems a bit silly and that our first home game after 4 aways on the trot.

Jennings scored his hundred last year. This year dropped.
Now after the game Hegg is interviewed praising the strength in depth and the "good little knock from captain Vilas". Is he serious? 12 runs from 10 balls is not good finishing. The only good thing about his innings was no dot balls, turning the strike over.

I like Vilas seems a good solid bloke who is clearly respected by the team and he has done very well for us over the years.
That said I do wonder about his ability to think clearly under pressure. Twice we have been knocked out of this competition due to him choosing to bowl Livingstone at the death. Today he didn't seem to grasp what was required. He has made quite a few other foolish decisions down the years in this competition which are out of keeping with his age and status.

In the end both sides will feel disappointed. It was a good toss for Notts to win and they would have thought 172 was a winning score on a used pitch, especially as we managed to drop both Moores and Duckett before either had scored anything to speak of. Lancs actually did well to get so close. Notts did bowl well at the end but the pitch had become really difficult to score on.
I suspect Croft was complaining that Fletcher had impeded Jennings as he turned for the second run but Fletcher had every right to stand his ground.
Re Vilas: he's not the best tactical captain but he only had five bowlers and, with Parkinson misfiring for once, he was a bit stuck. Dropping Moores and Duckett was much more expensive than any mistakes made by Vilas, as was Davies getting himself caught off a lazy leading edge.

Surely a plan B would have include an over of Wells, Jones or Jennings early on so that options were available?
Why would Croft be complaining to Moores about Fletcher, (when Fletcher is only about a yard or two from Croft who never looks towards Fletcher)?
