This team is even younger than the previous one that lost to Durham:
Lavelle (21), Morley (20), Watson (20), Walkden (19), Fielding (19), Selby (19), Mahmood (18), Young (18), Dickinson (17), Shetty (17), Singh (17), Walker (17)
average 18.5 (previous really young team averaged 18.9)
live.nvplay.com/ecb/#mda8a932b-eb7d-40a4-9ca2-6be5f665525eagain no game for Gleeson. Can’t be fit or in line for consideration next week. Should he have played in the T20?

First failure for Ben Walkden at 2nd XI level (40, 44, 49, 80, 20, 39, 9)
So much movement looking at the videos of the wickets. Not really surprisingly Lancs don’t want a county game there and that S&B are at the bottom of the LDCC

Good win for the seconds with such a young side very encouraging.
Watson scored 2 40s in a low scoring match. What do you know about him?
Walkden looks a prospect as he bowls too.
Our 3 in the England under 19 series seem to be doing as well as anyone.
All positive stuff for a few years time.
I see Cornall got a ton for Worcester seconds. Not sure what he did wrong. Anyone know what that's about? With Shah released we don't have that many batsmen on the staff seems strange we aren't as keen on him.

Only that Kurtis Watson was at Bolton School and never in the academy. Performed reasonably well for Leyland this year.
Interesting thing about Cornall was that he played in two of the RL50 never out (batting too low, as a non pro, but they needed him then/were looking at him then) with a high strike rate (only bettered by Lamb). Whatever decision was made it was clearly late, maybe during contract negotiations?
Teams playing an additional game today as championship match ended yesterday - no Lavelle but then he wasn’t keeping yesterday either. live.nvplay.com/ecb/#ma54225bf-9485-4b21-8344-737d7337da31
Nothing on the club website, but then what would you expect?

Thanks Chris
Coverage of the seconds is poor like many things if they can't make money out of it they don't care and aren't interested in informing the outside world.
Jgt Crawley playing for them is Jamie Crawley who had a spell in the seconds for us in previous years. There are probably a few like that trying their luck with other counties.
I'm impressed with Morley and would pick him above Hartley for red ball cricket.
Southport is definitely a lively wicket. Hopefully Blackpools drainage problems are now solved and there will be some outground cricket there.

Hopefully Blackpools drainage problems are now solved and there will be some outground cricket there. It’s Jamie’s second game for Durham 2s, but whilst I appreciate it is more about just looking at the scorecard, he hasn’t been pulling up any trees. Also playing for Scotland A (as was Shah). I agree there are a few being looked at up and down the counties over the last few months, which is why I try and keep an eye on NV live to see if I recognise names, such as GD Burrows. With the linked videos is normally easy to see if they are the same players, particularly the bowlers.
Luke Young is another prospect. More likely to be an all rounder than Walkden, who must be primarily a batsman. Young scored a lot of runs against Cumbria’s development side earlier this year. And Lancs seem to take a lot of players from Myerscough College (which is where Walkden is aswell).
I feel Hartley will always get the nod over Morley as the spinner is often played to keep things tight to help keep the batters under pressure in the hope they take risks.
Blackpool have been playing at home for the second half of the season, so should be ok for 2021.

Saw him today Chris playing for Newton against Rainford. Out for 27 lbw to a quicker delivery from former academy slow left arm bowler John Dotters. Was still a decisive innings in the match as was the stupendous catch he made on the boundary to get rid of John Dotters. Looked a good rather than exceptional batsman I thought but was a pretty dodgy pitch.

Good might be enough at this stage, it all depends on how he progresses and whether he fits in with the hierarchy and with the higher demands of cricket at county level. Better than Taylor Cornall is the question though, who was already scoring heavily at the higher level?
Just read that JJ Fielding finally came good (scoring 114 in 108 balls) in a big S&B win at Leigh. 25pts for both Bootle and S&B sees Bootle relegated with less batting points. That is some shock. ldcc.org.uk/07246_13092021_Defining_a_position_in_league_table.htm
First time Bootle ever relegated, I think

Cheshire’s Left arm seamer Ben Gibbon has landed a two year deal with Worcestershire.
He has played at least half a dozen games for Lancashire seconds over the last three years (last one this August) and was in Lancashire's EPP (Emerging Players Programme) in 2018.

I wonder why Taylor Cornall signed for Worcestershire? Did we not offer him a contract?
Seems very strange, he has performed well for the 2nd XI. Picked for the One Day Cup and didn't do much wrong although did not get much of an opportunity. Next thing he's playing for Worcestershire 2nds and signs a deal with them. We're short of batsmen surely it would have been worth signing him for a season.

After leaving Lancashire scored 2 x 70s for Kent 2nds followed by 100+ for Worcestershire 2nds. One of only two players to score over 300 runs for Lancs seconds in their championship this year. Lavelle was the other.
