David willey is dad was also a good player .Think david edges it thou Peter Willey was also hard as nails. If he said it was Monday then it was Monday!
That's right John, even Ian Botham wouldn't front-up against Peter Willey!

I think Rocky should be playing in the cc for the rest of the season. For the Surrey CC game there's a possibility Lancs will have a top 7 of Jennings, Wells, Bohannon, Salt, Iyer, Hurst and Balderson.
Against Derbyshire in the recent MB Rocky looked extremely uncomfortable against the short ball. He was smacked flush on the helmet and eventually got out to a bouncer. Opposition bowlers in the CC will pepper him if they can see a weakness.I expected him to get the treatment John but I don't remember them bowling a short ball at him, although Iyer got it in the second innings.

I was at the Test match so didn't see much of the action at the Oval OE but surprised to hear the Surrey bowlers didn't try a couple of short deliveries. It will be interesting to see what Abbas, Abbott and Turner do this week.

I’d have said Peter Willey was the better player. He got a century against Michael Holding and co-in a Test match. That will do me.
He also played a decisive innings against us in the Gillette final of 76 seeing off some very fine bowling by Peter Lever. He actually played in the first day of County Cricket that I saw at Aigburth in 1970 though I had seen a day at OT Test in 69.He got the first of a pair . Ken Shuttleworth, a few months ahead of his 5 to 47 at Brisbane got 7-54 that day. Memorable day for this 11-year-old.

Don’t think Abbas bothers with bouncers John W but Fuller might. He can be seriously hostile.

Don’t think Abbas bothers with bouncers John W but Fuller might. He can be seriously hostile. That's right Des, Fuller's their enforcer. Turner has only played one red ball game so far this season, I think, (form and fitness) but he's already built a reputation in a short career for bowling with serious pace.
