You beat me to it MITS
Good to have something to look forward to in the current beer desert. I could imagine a lovely September at Scarborough, Taunton, Aigburth and the final. Be very surprised if weather doesn’t ruin the final and Bonking Boris will probably ruin the rest.

Interesting that those fixtures say Yorkshire are playing a home game at old Trafford at the same time as the test match! Will be a busy pitch!

There remains an interesting opportunity to sign an overseas reinforcement. The Championship is at stake. A seam bowler was the original selection and availability issues seem to suggest that was right, but who?

As we approach the final 4 matches of the championship: A reminder Points carried forward are: Warwickshire (21 points), Somerset (18.5), Lancashire (16.5), Hampshire (8.5), Nottinghamshire (5), Yorkshire (4.5)
News is that Warwickshire have strengthened up by signing Jason Holder, Somerset have signed Azhar Ali, Nottinghamshire signed Sam Northeast......

Would have thought Holder would have to quarantine first

To put last night’s selection into context, provided that Gleeson was actually fully fit, Mahmood remaining with England and Parkinson still isolating, I can see the same XI in different batting order taking the field in Monday’s match against Warwickshire: Wells Davies Bohannon Livingstone Vilas+ Croft Jones Lamb Bailey Hartley Gleeson
How many counties would not make a change between a T20 side and the championship? Or least have all their T20 XI in real contention for the next championship match so therefore not including a single one day specialist in the T20.
Probably it will not happen and Mahmood will be released to play instead of Gleeson.

Mahmood and Parkinson back in the squad but no Davies. Is this because a)he's leaving; b)he played poorly against Somerset on Thursday; c)he's injured or isolating? It's odd because the club website was only recently predicting that Davies would be "playing against his new club".

I am thinking this means that we are going to be looking at an average points scenario like in the One Day Cup.

Rumours that the concert scheduled for the end of September has been cancelled and the last game may be played on a track that lasts 60 days at OT instead of a result wicket at Liverpool. Rumour but watch this space

Anything that Allott said I would treat a bit like a vote of confidence for a football manager. However, as a Liverpool member I have received this today
“With the Lancs games fast approaching please keep an eye on your emails as we will be sending out information early next on how to get your tickets.”
I presume they mean early next week but who knows?
Lancashire must have lost a lot of money as a result of the Test debacle and if the concert doesn’t go ahead . Wouldn’t be surprised if they want to get it back to Old Trafford.
Just been a disastrous season for real cricket in my view. I was reading on the Yorkshire forum yesterday what a financial blow it had been for Scarborough with the game over in two days against Somerset after the shambles of the transfer of the Roses match to Headingley.
