Are we seriously planning to complete the season without reinforcements? We are (just) potential winners of 2 competitions but we are not going to be able to rotate the seamers ( we will be 3 or 4 short of the original plan...Bird, Gleeson, Saqib, Anderson) and the batting has been thin. Competitors are recruiting, surely we should, too

Maybe Governor Gidney wants to bring forward his suggestion to use the CC as a development competion Ross. Development for what? The bloody hundred wants the ECB’s despised counties to develop the home grown rather than overseas mercenaries for it .

It is true about Salt
I believe Jones turned down an approach from Middlesex. Our cost cutting approach of letting players get to the last year of their contract before renegotiating has left us wide open to this. I appreciate covid has brought uncertainty and the hotel business funds alot players like Davies take years of coaching and nurturing and talent like that doesn't come along too often.
To be fair to the club an overseas for September will be challenging. The Ipl restarts to many will hang on to see if they get a go in that.
Australian players have to report back before the start of the sheffield shield so you would only get a couple of rounds out of signing one of them.

Signed for half the season, I assume. He plays at least the Hundred, and for Adelaide Strikes, Barbados Tridents and Lahore Qalandars as well as being fringe England one day squads.

Derby seem keen on Moulton and have signed him on loan for the rest ofbthe season and put him in the squad for the next game. See how he goes.
Quite a few of their squad have either played for us or played league cricket in our county.
