Good decision in my opinion.

Named captain as Vilas stands down Strange way to announce that Vilas will be one of the overseas players next year. They haven't bothered to announce any contract extensions for him since he became captain.
I guess it also means Vilas might not play all three formats just "one of the overseas players" this season but maybe not next season?

Quite possible, likely even, that he'll get called up to the Test team in the summer. Not sure I'd put much money on Crawley and Duckett making it to the end of the Ashes series and Jennings seems to be the next cab off the rank for openers. Do we have a VC? Bohannon seems to be part of the leadership "group" these days.

I thought Vilas was applying for UK citizenship so he wouldn't count as an overseas?
I wonder if he will play as wicket keeper or as a batsman only.
I think he has been a good captain for Lancs...

I agree his has been a good captain but I do think it is time for a change, he will be 38 during the 2023 season.

He was, but how long ago was that? Raises the question whether he is eligible, presumably by now the Home Office has refused his application - but who knows?!

Bailey ahead of Bohannon, I suspect.

Without doubt the best opening bat in all forms of cricket ive seen at lancs Only think of mal loye coming close to him ,Ov Atherton was a world class red ball opener .

Atherton was no mug in ODIs either though it was more recognisable as cricket in those days.
As far as entertainment watching and generally pretty successful, I loved Fowler and Mendis.

Not picked for the Test despite Crawley’s injury which must be a massive relief to Lancs.

One or two disturbing comments emerging on social media that KJ wants out of Lancs. Nothing concrete just rumours. I believe he has a contract with Lancashire until the end of next season.

Wonder how many times he has come down the wicket to a bowler only to have the keeper stand up and then get out lbw anyway for a low score. Can't he defend the ball?
Signed up by Perth Scorchers.
