Rain stopped play. 133 for 6 in the 18th. Lancs will be hoping the rain carries on. Another good knock from Croft and Bell looks promising. Bohannon, Jones and Lamb fared as expected but another disappointing innings from David, who doesn't seem able to adapt to less straightforward pitches. This one was a touch two paced on Sunday but flat enough for a big score. Now it's quite tricky but we'll need all our three spinners + Gleeson and Wood to be on song. Without Parkinson, Croft hasn't got many options.

Young bell showing bohannon and jones how to get the ball off the square . Glen chappell needs to open his eyes selecting bohannon and jones ahead of this kid in games gone by

Given how batting second under D/L tends to be more favourable in T20, probably a decent result. Take the point and move on.
Derbyshire conceding plenty of runs tonight; over 200 with more than three overs remaining.

Results going our way. Having to bowl with a wet ball, we'd surely have lost a D/L thrash. Notts have prepared the flattest of flat pitches so Derbyshire will give it a good go but can't see them getting 248. No point continuing with Bohannon and Jones and Lamb needs a spell in the 2nds to regain form and confidence.

Bohannon 15 runs (no boundaries) from 25 balls over his three games.
Balderson to do better at the top? And offers another bowling option.
Probably three or four wickets for Croft tonight had the game continued. His favourite ground!

It's a shame Jones' form in the championship game hasn't translated across but agree there's little point in continuing with Bohannon in this form for the next couple of games, especially up top. Also think Wells better suited to the middle overs. Impressed with Bell, nice little innings. Less and less impressed by David, out slogging Sowter's first ball when we had a long way to go. Must acknowledge Crofty's great form, what an Indian summer.

Bohannon is great in the field but both he and Jones look like fish out of water when batting in this format. I agree that Wells is probably better not opening but it's difficult to think who else should open with Salt tomorrow unless Jennings recovers. Obviously Bell has earned another go. Thought we would probably have won tonight had it not rained at all. We looked on for another 20+ runs and I think we'd have defended that as long as Bailey and Lamb didn't bowl. Altogether different if DLS had come into play. Be difficult tomorrow unless Derbyshire have a giant hangover from being thrashed tonight because we don't have the kind of pace-off seamers who are most effective on the flat Derby pitch.

Bohannon, Jones and Lamb fared as expected but another disappointing innings from David, who doesn't seem able to adapt to less straightforward pitches. Never expected to be 2 points clear after the Netherlands England series. Salt and Livingstone should be back tomorrow.
Bohannon needs to be rested to clear his head for Sunday, three innings and never achieved a run a ball in any, at least today he ran a 3, otherwise I think it’s been singles at best and far too many dots. Lancs need to work out a way of getting out of the power play in a better position, given their injury list, it will probably be Salt, Wells, Croft, Vilas, Livingstone, David tomorrow. They have to hold back David until at least half way. Why should he be expected to adapt his match play to less straight forward pitches, he has never played first class cricket, and I guess the majority of his cricket has been T20 not even List A and probably on the usual flat tracks.
With a top 6 as above, they could go Wood, Lamb, Hartley, Gleeson, Parkinson or more probably add in an extra batter at 7 and with extra overs from Wells, Livingstone and David to complement Gleeson, Wood and Hartley, especially if Parkinson is still not fit.
Clearly Lavelle has either left the club or is injured, or both. His seems to be a name that everyone has forgotten, although I would not expect either Scott Read or Hugh Ferris to say anything much.

The reason David should adapt his play is that otherwise he'll just keep getting out for not many, which will please no-one, least of all David. At the start of the tournament he was scoring big and fast on mostly newish pitches but more and more games are now being played on used and re-used strips so just standing there and swinging doesn't work. I agree with everything else you say. Can't find anything about Lavelle on the club website - it doesn't even seem to list the 2nd XI squad.

Why should we expect him to be able to ..... he doesn't have the experience of having to do so before, and he clearly has been given a role to fulfill. That of six hitter. Been out in almost exactly the same way in both last two matches caught backward point on the ring.

Fair enough. Maybe he'll work it out for himself. I was going to say that the (usually) flat Derby pitch should suit him tonight but it looks like being a rain affected lottery.

I thought George Bell really looked the part last night. Came in at 71-4 looked confident, rotated the strike from the start and played a few shots to keep the score moving. Shame he didn't get a chance to keep. Would definitely pick him in T20 as a specialist batsmen ahead of Bohannon or Jones. Bohannon has struggled so much, two of his runs last night were due to a miss field. I think Wells is the best option to open if Salt, Jennings or Butler are not available. I think you get what you get with Tim David when he comes off great but you don't want to see him come in at 41-3. My feeling last night was that if it hadn't rained we would have been a few runs short and Durham would have got home in a close finish as in the reverse fixture. I had some concerns about our attack with Bailey and Lamb and no Parkinson. Would like to see Balderson get a game.
