It's really quite scandalous that OD internationals are arranged to coincide with the T20 Blast but not with The Hundred, which needs free tickets to get a crowd. The ECB is determined to promote this meaningless circus at the expense of a competition that is really popular. I Wasn’t able to get there tonight but watched it on TV. The commentators referred to it as unfortunate (or similar). Your word scandalous is far more appropriate.

Whether this is true or not Buttler and Livingstione could have played if the game started at 2.30pm, as for the ECB everyone should now by no they don't care one jot for the county game

Make no mistake the ECB want the T20 Blast to fail, the Hundred is their competition. There isn't enough space in the calendar for both tournaments, a problem wholly of the ECB's making. I don't have Sky so I watched the Somerset stream last night. Taunton was absolutely packed to the rafters, great game, great atmosphere. It is scandalous that the ECB want to choke off professional cricket in places like Taunton in favour of walking crisp packets smashing maximums on glue in pitches. Tom Harrison has a LOT to answer for.

Logged on to get my QF tickets and good to see the website working at its usual high capacity. I've been in the waiting room (whatever that means for the past 20mins).

What do people think the QF team will be?
I’m presuming Lamb will remain undroppable and Bell and Balderson might be in the squad, but have tried to avoid picking Bohannon definitely, and Jones as well.
How about: Jennings, Balderson, Wells, Croft, Vilas, David, Bell, Lamb, Wood, Hartley and Bailey.
Batting down to Wood, (although after last night’s efforts Hartley as well), and bowling the last four names also Balderson and Wells, with David and even Croft possibilities.
Who’d be better behind the stumps, Vilas or Bell? Maybe hypothetical as what are the chances of Bell being in the side?

More likely that the County Championship will be cut to 10 games to make more space especially as the CC loses money compared to the Blast. Will the QF's just be televised by Sky??

Good point about Mousley. Unfortunately, Chapple seems to have learned his man management from Mike Watkinson (although he's a better strategic thinker - not difficult of course) and ever since Watkinson was i/c Lancs have been very slow to bring young talent through into the first XI. If this had been the policy when Chapple was a youngster he'd never have been taking 6 for 18 at Lord's at age 22 but he seems to have forgotten this. After his excellent debut against Notts at Blackpool, George Bell should not have been sent straight back to the 2nds. I don't think Jones or Bohannon will be playing any more T20 this season but with Wood and Gleeson both missing on Friday you can see why Chapple has been desperately persisting with Lamb. At least Lamb bowled well last night and if they play again on the same pitch (as they should) he may do well again but definitely shouldn't bat any higher than 10!

Went off to play for England. Got some no doubt unhelpful coaching, then sent back home early. The downfall of many player in the past and no doubt in the future too.
