The ECB conditions of play for this competition state clearly (rule 16.11.4) that when teams finish level on points the side with the higher NRR will be placed ahead. So Lancs are actually third and Kent are fourth. btw the Notts game isn't at Trent Bridge but at Nettleworth.
Went to Lord's today. Very enjoyable game and enough spectators to provide a good crowd feel. Not sure about our decision to bat first: the pitch was pretty lively for the first 25-30 overs but had flattened out a bit when Middlesex batted. We were saved by Hurst and Lavelle putting on 131 in double quick time for the sixth wicket and by some good bowling at key moments.

Thanks Exile for clarifying that. Net run rate is the sensible way to separate teams but it's odd that the table most websites are using has Kent above Lancs.
Anyway nice and straight forward victory at Nettleworth sees us through.

After setbacks against Leicester and Hampshire we’ve done well to stay in this competition, but what concerns me is the lack of a 6th bowler.
Aspinwall, Morley, Blatherwick and even Balderson are all fairly inexperienced and if one of them had a particularly bad time who could the captain turn to?
Jennings himself and Bohannon have picked up a few wickets in their careers, but would only be described as “very occasional” bowlers. George Bell?

Aspinwall falls away at the bowling crease a bit too much for my liking but he does bowl a great yorker. Cleaned up the Worcester 2nds tail recently in similar fashion.
Morley progressing well. Am I imagining it or has he slightly modified his bowling action?
I was also surprised we batted first. I always prefer us to lose the toss as we so often seem to make the wrong decision.
We seem to have a really good crop of young players at the moment(save a fast bowler). Just need the management not to mess them up.

Well said, SP. I thought Jennings captained well in this competition last season but his injury in the spring seems to have knocked his confidence and, with it, his judgement. He actually said that he would have bowled against Leics, had he won the toss! Yesterday the pitch offered some movement throughout the match but for the first 25 overs it also had some sharp and unpredictable bounce, especially from the Pavilion End. Middlesex were able to keep a slip in for more than half the innings and they bowled Bamber out in the hope of knocking the stuffing out of Lancs before conditions eased a bit. It almost worked: one more wicket and Lancs would have been dead in the water. As it was, without Bamber they couldn't contain Lavelle and Hurst and we got a score that was just about defendable.
Not been to Lord's for years and had forgotten how lovely it is on a sunny day.

To underline the point about a good crop of young players, Kesh Fonseka has just scored 121 out of a total of 261 all out for England U19s.

Bit of a dodgy stream. Bleary and choppy. Audio seems ok for the most part.

Dodgy stream is mile MG dire I'd call it but there again doubt whether the 21st century has actually arrived in Mansfield yet
