Thank goodness we lost the toss! Poor decision by Notts to bat first on what Mike Atherton used to call a "sporting" pitch but not sure Lancs wouldn't also have batted. Good to see Jennings back to his best. Inexperience did for Bell, losing patience when all that was needed was to see off the new ball. Vilas is clearly shot and should stand himself down from the next game. Croft bowling was a rare sight but he did OK.

Off to Gloucester I believe. ..team done well especially after two no results ... do we get our Hundred players back? No. There will still be fixtures to play in the 100. IMO they shouldn't be considered anyway just like last year's final. I put us big second favourites on Friday, Gloucester have only lost 2 players to the 100.

Luke Wells and Liam Livingstone won't qualify and I think one of them could be a replacement for Vilas and would also offer a bowling option.

Last season Lancashire did not consider any player who had played in the hundred even though most of them were available, they stuck with the squad who had played throughout the competition. As I recall that also included the coaching staff. I don't blame any player for pocketing extra cash playing in the hundred but if they do they shouldn't expect to walk straight back into their county side and play in a competition they've walked away from.

Agreed JohnW, especially after this year’s 2020 experience.

Livingstone won't be considered anyway, next on the rollercoaster for him is England white ball fixtures. I very much doubt he would lower himself to play in a non televised 2nd XI competition.

Completely agree. I think the other counties left in the competition will agree as well. btw I see that Matt Parkinson is the third highest wicket taker in this year's competition.

Vilas is clearly shot and should stand himself down from the next game. A strange competition for him; 173 runs in his first three innings, just 2 runs in his second three. Regarding John W's point, isn't the final televised? I believe it was last season, although I was busy watching my team play in the FA Cup!

Up till then they had barely given it a mention. I actually meant all games leading up to the final. By the way I was on another cricket forum this morning and somebody mentioned that next year's MB One Day cup will be on Channel 5. I don't know where he has got his information from or how true it is.

Only players who have played in the one day cup should represent England in 50 over competition. Either 50 over series or the World cup.

The only two games we lost were the two we played at OT. Food for thought.
