Kent to charge for people watching Blast games via Streaming Services £5.99 a game members will be able to watch them free on streaming service That's an interesting, unwelcome development. I'd heard rumours that counties may start to try and monetise the streams. When will sport learn? Go behind the paywall and you lose public interest. The numbers that watch even T20 on the stream are relatively small. Can't imagine this will generate much in the way of income as opposed the potential benefit to both Kent and the game of generating greater and new interest through free to air.

I can see all counties going down this route. The coverage has improved over the last season but the number of cameras, quality of replays, etc are nowhere near what you would get from a TV channel. The cost of £5.99 for one game is excessive compared to what you get from something like a Sky sports package.

I’d want a lot more than £5.99 to watch a blast game. I’d consider £599🙂

The cost of £5.99 for one game is excessive compared to what you get from something like a Sky sports package. It's a tenner to watch a National League football match, quality lamentable. I understand that counties can't show advertising, or charge fees, if using the BBC commentary and there are plenty of counties that have started to use their own teams (Lancs, Surrey and Somerset for example) which may lead one to think they are considering going behind a paywall. I imagine there will be a lot of interest from other counties in how the Kent subscription lands, surely a bit late in the piece for others to follow suit this season?

Couldn't find Somerset/Hampshire on youtube, maybe its on sky? No Kent either, I'm guessing thats because they are charging for it now. Had to settle for Northants/Worcs.
