But seems unlikely this season given his injury. Anderson is playing golf in Dunhill Links 3-6 October. Bet he will be fit for that.

Rumours of offers may come his way from Major League cricket next year.

If true then he going to have choose between that and coaching England... That is going to finish after NZ tour this year. Is he playing for Lancs next year? I don't suppose he knows what is happening next year. Is he playing for Lancs in the last game of the season? I'm going to miss his bowling, so I hope he plays for Lancs for another year.

Zero chance of him playing for Lancs next season. Coaching England and/or franchise T20 leagues.

Zero chance of him playing for Lancs next season. Coaching England and/or franchise T20 leagues. If he is hoping to play in The Hundred then playing for Lancs is necessary ... can't turn up with no cricket behind him. 'Once this summer is done I can sit down and have a real think if I want to play cricket in some shape or form next year. I am still fit enough to play and I am not shutting myself off to anything' T20 bowling in England 24.80 econ 7.44

Can't see him wanting to go through the rigours of a county season. If a franchise team offers him a gig somewhere, I reckon he'll take it.

Doesn't know if he wants to play white ball cricket or red. With Lancs he can do both. Can see how he gets on in the Blast and then try out for The Hundred. If he is any good in the white ball then franchises might be more interested than someone who hasn't played white ball for years and is 42.

Strikes me he's angling towards franchise cricket rather than Grace Road in April.

Strikes me he's angling towards franchise cricket rather than Grace Road in April. Don't you need a previous good record? How can you play for a franchise without bowling. Maybe he can use the nets at OT. If he plays for Lancs he can play in the Blast.

I'm dubious about the competitiveness of the IT10 Super Smash and the like, I'm sure Jimmy would be an asset to one of the lesser comps, just for the attention he would bring for their sponsors.
