With Derby until the end of season That's a pity. Much better than Hartley. I think Hartley is there for his batting rather than his bowling...Wells bowled more overs than him in the Hants game..

Playing for Newton Le Willows at Rainford tomorrow. Doesn’t change my forecast of a home win but we will see ; NLW also have ex academy Ben Walkden who is well capable of a century against any league attack.

Took 4-39 against Rainford on Saturday in a losing cause but the Rainford players thought the younger slow left armer at the other end was the more challenging bowler as they thought Jack bowled it too quickly to take advantage of the spin in the pitch. I said to the young spinner how much I had enjoyed watching him but Jack could point to better figures.
To his credit, Jack stayed for a drink afterwards which the players who feel they’ve made it don’t often do .

Latest rumour is he is going to Derbyshire on a permanent deal. Should be meeting up with him next April or May.

Shame if he goes. He's done OK with Derbyshire not sure we would regret it if he left.
Wish him well if he did go.
Is he considered better than Charlie Barnard?
Unless a pitch is very likely to spin I wonder if Wells backed by 4 or 5 seamers and a deep batting line up is our best bet.

I think the club prefer Charlie Barnard. They made him captain of the 2nds a few weeks ago and he batted at no.3 in their last game, scoring 20 I think. Morley's lack of ability with the bat would always hold him back here.
Mind you Parky has found some ability with the bat at Kent, so perhaps Morley will at Derbys.

Will be a shame if he leaves, much better red ball bowler than Hartley. He has a contract to the end of the 2026 season, I don't think that means much but it does highlight the bizarre way the club gives out contracts.

Joining Derby Who will be Lancs first choice spinner in 2025? The DOC is probably scouring the world right now, then it'll be Hartley.
