Hameed had a good season two years ago for Notts but that was in Div2 and was poor again last year in Div1.
Will this mark a return to Hameed's previous early brilliant form or a one-off, just as Davies' century against us last season was his only one of the season, I believe. Whatever, these former players always seem highly motivated against us, or perhaps it's just a reflection of our bowling attack.
Bailey seems to have gone from hero to zero, which has had a knock-on effect on Williams. They were brilliant together last year and helped each other take wickets. Thanks to Chilton not bolstering the seam bowling, Balderson, who should be a good fourth seamer, has had to bear the burden of leading the attack as well as batting at no.4. A lot to ask of a young player, talented though he is.
This will be a good test of the morale in the camp. The wicket is clearly now good to bat on, so we should be able to make a big score in our 2nd innings, but there's a nagging suspicion we'll capitulate again. An important session coming up.

Wells out already. They won the toss and threw their wickets away on a road. Dismal.

Wouldn't be surprised at an inning defeat here. Very poor.

At 22 for 2 as I write, it looks as though morale in the camp is very low indeed!

Bell in at 4? Balderson was way too high there but mid match changes in the batting line up smacks of total panic.

Yes - really bad idea and, unsurprisingly, he's out cheaply. 33 for 3 now - another humiliation beckons. Lancs look all at sea - low on confidence and short of ideas.

Benkenstein isn't going to see the season out. Please God Chilton too. Relegation a very strong probability by mid May.

Jennings out slashing without any footwork at a ball that wasn't there for the shot. Surely, whatever is wrong in the camp must go deeper than Benkenstein's coaching?
Later: 5 down now. Could be all over tonight.
A bit later: 6 down. Notts keep getting the ball to jump off a length and our batters can't cope.

Benkenstein carrying on his stellar record from last season. Consistent if nothing else.

Scott Read will be tearing in to the management coaches and players post match.Not. Can someone flat out ask Chilton how he is still in a job.
