Struggled to follow the meeting because zoom kept cutting out. Couple of comments which stood out:
Andy Anson saying that we are at the salary cap. I thought this was surprising because our squad is significantly smaller than last year and I don't think centrally contracted players are included.
Andy Anson again saying that he wanted Farington to be an out ground similar to York he visited couple of years ago for a One Day Cup game. Has he ever been to Blackpool, Southport or Liverpool?
Mark Chilton said that the improvement in performances by Gloucestershire this year could be due to work done by Dale Benkenstein while he was still there.

Missed that bit but he did say that they were searching for someone to replace Lyon for the rest of the season so there must be some money left...

I don't understand what's happened to the money we were paying to Vilas, Parkinson, Jones, Lamb and Gleeson?

Anson didn't say we are at the salary cap, he said there is still room in it and last Saturday he said we had spent 83% of it, and there is money to sign another overseas player to replace Lyon. I thought the same thing re York. I went to that game and it was good, but like you say Southport, Liverpool and Blackpool are just as good if not better. No coincidence that Gloucester have improved now Frankenstein has gone!

I trust what we are paying Lyon has dropped significantly when his contract went from 6x months all formats to 7x championship games in 3x months. As an approximation I would guess what we pay our overseas, Vilas, Mitchell and CDG last year and Lyon, Bruce, Green and A.N. Other this year is similar.

Personally I felt both Andy Anson and Mark Chilton were very defensive at the AGM. Chilton is right to underline the importance -and success-of the “pathway “. However, the jury is definitely out on recruitment and contractual decisions he has made. When he said that we had to reassess our objectives for this season, does he mean finishing third from bottom of the Championship will now be viewed as success?

I think most Lancashire fans would take third from bottom right now.

After that it's going to be even more of a struggle to bowl sides out twice.

We definitely need to be out of the bottom two by then. Late September playing at a ground that hasn't got floodlights doesn't bode well if there's any bad light around.
