I'm down there for the 4 days and I've currently got a feeling of unbridled joy because -
1. I'll be watching a red ball and cricketers in whites. 2. The weather forecast is excellent. 3. The game isn't at Old Trafford meaning I can sit where I want. 4. (Hopefully) Jimmy back in action along with Lyon. 5. There are a few decent boozers in Canterbury.
What can possibly go wrong?

Enjoy it John W. One of the few counties where I’ve never watched cricket. Missed an opportunity this year really ; we normally play there in Arctic conditions in early April or late Sep it seems to me.

Only been to Canterbury once, which was Neil Fairbrother's final game. He'd scored a first class century against every county except Kent, and he retired immediately after this final opportunity didn't materialise. There weren't many Lancs fans there but we tried to give him as rousing a send off as we could.
I think Jimmy played in that game as well. Don't expect any other of the players who played in that game will be playing next week!

I will be down next week.
Kent ccc is holding 172nd Canterbury cricket week from Sunday.
On Sunday, the Invicta Jazz band will be playing before the start of play and during the lunch interval.
There will be facepainting available between 12pm & 2pm by Floodlight Four. There will also be cricket activities for juniors that will be taking place all day with the Kent Cricket Community Team.
Free NHS Health Checks will also be available to all throughout the day on the Southern Bank.
On Monday. School's out day where 1650 schoolchildren from across the county will be given a free taste of County Championship cricket.
Cricket activities for juniors will be taking place all day with the Kent Cricket Community Team.
A Tea Time Talk for Kent & Lancashire Members will take place during the Tea break in the Chiesman Pavilion, about the history of Kent v Lancashire, and of course the match between the two sides in 1906 which became one of the most iconic paintings in our sport.
On Tuesday. The ‘Useless Pluckers’, a collection of musicians who play an entertaining mix of musical numbers and styles, will be playing throughout the day.
A Members’ Forum will take place inside the Ames Levett Indoor Sports Centre during the Lunch break, and a Wreath laying, in honour of the Kent cricketers that have perished in war, will take place with the Kent Cricket Supporters’ Club and the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment during the Tea interval.

Silence re Bruce and Anderson. The Lancashire way!
It almost looks like a 2nd XI with one or two first teamers playing for a bit of practise.

So is Luke Wood just a T20 player nowadays, or do our selectors/coach genuinely think Blatherwick will do a better job?

Hope Morley plays. Quality spinner. Think he's injured.

Further to my previous comment I’ve now seen on the website that Wood is having his workload managed.
Nothing about Anderson though, if he’s injured it surely isn’t by playing cricket. Wasn’t this meant to be one of his two final games for us, or is he intending to play after his final Test?
On another subject, is Croft’s contract for T20 only, or is he likely to play in the ODC as well?
