Whilst I realise that Jennings didn't technically carry his bat, I wonder when the last time an opening bat from both sides in the 1st innings of the same match, carried their bat. I'm sure it's not unique, but must be pretty rare.

Jimmy strikes again. Could Lancs win this?

Jennings has a chance of 1,000 CC runs in a season. He needs 117 runs to get there..

Might have a chance of winning if it doesn't rain or go dark but the pitch looks fairly placid. Only Jimmy got anything much out of it yesterday. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, not looking good for a win. Looks like the weather has beaten us, although we'd have had more of a chance with more variety in our bowling attack. Think we need to be moving on from Williams. Only seven wickets in his last 10 first-class innings. Tidy enough bowler but doesn't look threatening.

On this pitch I don't think any attack would have bowled out Notts in the time available unless they committed suicide. Anderson brilliantly exploited the moisture in the pitch yesterday morning but you could see from the way the Notts tail wagged after lunch that it had dried out and become easy paced and flat.

Looking at the table Kent are 30 points form safety and look to be doomed. The next five are separated by 11 points so plenty to play for when red ball cricket resumes in a few weeks time.
