The commentators mentioned that before the last ball and thought the umpires were discussing it. Maybe its ok as long as he's wearing at least one? He had it on his left hand. He ran off after taking the catch like he'd scored the winner in the world cup final. And why not celebrate deserved to as did both teams I've no problem with him celebrating, although it wasn't for actually winning anything. I've just never seen anyone take off like that on a cricket field.

The bit in the report about pulling further away from the relegation zone is incorrect. After the previous round of games we were 14 points above the bottom two. Now we are just ten. Maybe they mean in the sense that another team is now in between Lancs and the 2 relegation places. But yeah, most of us would be thinking about the points.

Maybe they mean in the sense that another team is now in between Lancs and the 2 relegation places. But yeah, most of us would be thinking about the points. And in the next round of CC matches starting August 22 Lancashire are away to Surrey while Worcestershire are at home to Kent. I know we had that fantastic win at The Oval last year but Surrey appear to have gone up another level since then. Without being negative the odds are that we will lose that game, combine that with a Worcestershire win against the division's whipping boys and Lancashire are right back in trouble.
On the whole there has been a big improvement in the last 4 games but the early defeats, especially to Kent and Notts (both times having won the toss in favourable conditions) are potentially damaging. We really don't want to be going into September needing wins to stay up when the weather can play such a prominent part..then there is the final match of the season at a boggy New Road!
