Completely out of the blue. If Chris Green is available when Khan returns to Trent Rockets then that is going to throw another spanner in the works regarding the enigma that is Tom Bruce.

Why is he still in the squad? His first innings dismissal at the Oval displayed abject disinterest in Lancashire.

On Twitter/X it is being reported that Iyer played a game in India last week which finished on Saturday, jetted across to Duham, played in the game and is now back in India playing again!! Madness...no wonder he had a back spasm

Utter madness. Apart from the stress and damage to individuals , cricket has the nerve to talk about climate change in various magazines . Flying for work is one thing , for a few months fair enough. Pat Cummings talking about how we all need to do our bit and then playing for the Los Angeles Lunatics. The Pakistani left arm bowler ( whose name escapes me even though I was a fan of his in his young genius days ) did something similar to Iyer recently. And they have the nerve to talk about too much cricket ( there’s actually too little cricket but too much trash) . The answer is simple. You don’t have to earn every penny that is available.

Amazing how the word workload doesn't get mentioned when there is money on offer. I thought it was ridiculous when there was talk of flying Chris Green in from the Caribbean if we got to T20 finals day, but at least Green was a match winner who contributed with bat, ball and was clearly a good influence on the younger layers. I struggle to see what we get from Iyer in the championship team. I assume we are paying for his business/ first class tickets.
