The view from the Durham forum seems to be that they quite liked him, but that his game has regressed from a promising start, and it was unlikely he would get many starts with Emilio Gay arriving.
Which still begs the question, did we ever try to sign Gay? Hope somebody asks that at the forum today.

Currently at the Oval for the Surrey-Durham Blast QF and Jones played a decent innings of 37 off 24. That said it is pretty inauspicious that a specialist batsman has come in at 8.
Appreciate that we’re more interested in how he’ll perform in the red-ball stuff when he’s here but thought it was worth noting nonetheless.

Agree he looks like he'll be an asset in T20 but that the acid test will be how he performs in red ball cricket, although the hierarchy won't care about that.

He batted well yesterday. The fact he can't make Durham's championship team however is still a major concern.
