At the members meeting last Thursday Chilton said they were in talks with Pakistani fast bowler Mohammed Ali to play the last five games in the Championship. They are just waiting to see if he gets called up by Pakistan, apparently he is on the standby list if anyone drops out. He also says if we reach the T20 finals day they will try to fly Green back from the Caribbean Premier League.

Ali has been called up by Pakistan. 1st Test starts this Wednesday so he definitely misses the Surrey game, if he is in the squad for the 2nd Test that starts on August 30th so he would miss the Hampshire game. 2nd Test finishes September 3rd and Lancs play September 9th up at Durham so he could be available for that and the final 2 CC matches.

Their attack will include both Ollie Robinson and a handy looking lad called Jofra Archer. We might save a few quid on that return air fare.

I don't think Archer will play, supposedly he is only playing T20 this year (unless they are stepping up his comeback?)
Robinson is a quality bowler, should be in the England team still.

Presuming batting lineup will be: Jennings, Wells, Bosh, Bell? Balderson, Hurst. Salt I suppose could play as he is quite happy to turn out maybe as a specialist batter in place of Bell. Seamers I presume Bailey, Williams, Blatherwick Aspinall? IS Lyon still around as spinner?
Livingstone won't dignify us with his presence (good). Mahmood and Wood seem to be T20 only these days.

Lyon is back in Oz. Mahmood has been quoted as saying he hopes to be playing at the Oval in the CC this week.

Apparently the Pakistan Cricket Board have blocked Mohammad Ali from playing for Lancashire, he was due to play the final 3 games. The final nail in the coffin?

Loads of counties have signed up kiwis with no international experience to speak of, the odd South African. I wonder if Tom Bruce is free?
