Why did Jordan Clark leave Lancs? Same reason all the young players that have left and gone on to do well? Fell out with the powers that be?

There was talk that his girlfriend/partner had a good job in London and Surrey offered a good package with a relocation allowance.
No one really knows but it was a surprise at the time as Lancs never tended to lose players they wanted to keep.
He really has developed into a fine player at county level. Doubt he regrets the move.

Flintoff batting too high in the order but when you look at the elven there isn't a viable alternative. Balderson struggled there earlier in the season and is having to do a lot of bowling. Iyer doesn't look capable of batting at 4. In a nutshell, there. Rocky looks a genuine talent. But he’s also a genuine 16 year old, not Sachin Tendulkar. We seem to have been seduced by Hurst transforming from a couple of impressive performances in the 50 over Cup into a two dimensional county front liner as our new developmental process, so Rocky at 4 and Josh Boyden opening the bowling. I assume there’s an agreement between the club and certain players with no obvious route into the Test team for various reasons - Buttler, Livingstone, Wood, Salt - that they will only turn out for us in T20 when they’re in the shop window that matters to them and only in the CC when they fancy it, hence hardly at all. I know some of these are in the ECB’s pay, but as people have pointed out, Bairstow is playing for Yorkshire so clearly the player does get a say. For the same reason I suspect Saqib will be back sooner as he is clear that he wants to play more Test cricket and his being rested if in doubt, given his history, has a lot of good sense to it. Whilst I’ve been typing that, Bosh has played on for the second consecutive innings. If the lad wasn’t have it bad luck he’d be having no luck at all.

I suspect Bairstow's England days are over, I think he will be a casualty of our disappointing performances in the T20 and ODI world cups.

Ok, fair enough on Clark not the fault of Lancs on that one. Fair play to Surrey on the team they've built.

A day's rain and we still can't save the match.
A possibility we might get lucky re. Worcestershire and Warwickshire. Worcestershire would be very unfortunate, Warwickshire might have left themselves too much to do in any case.

I agree that Iyer has been a terrible signing but both Colin de Grandhomme and Ton Bruce give him a pretty good run for his money as far as the worst overseas player. That's three out of six overseas we have had in two seasons. I don't think Iyer should play against Hampshire next week.
