“Interview with Mark Chilton on ‘North West tonight’ tomorrow.” Thanks for that MITS ; I had meant to post that last night. It can be obtained on iPlayer for 24 hours for anyone out of region although it is often a couple of hours later . So probably from Oct 1 around 2200. I guess it will be the usual blaming others , obfuscation and bull.

It's packed full of excuses, or narrative explanation if you want to be kind. Chilton majors on the unavailability of players while failing to confirm anything relating to their contractual status. Read fails to ask him a single incisive question and once again gives the enduring impression of a journalist and a commentator that says what he sees rather than offering any knowledge or insight. I know that local journalists have to carefully manage their relationships with football clubs/counties but surely the BBC should be above this kind of mindless PR?

Ottis Gibson would be a good replacement for coach.

Agreed, a really worrying although not surprising interview where banal questions are put to Chilton to allow him to waffle on about nothing, blaming anything but the coaches or management team for the season, and offering little hope for the future. Bleak stuff all round.

Ottis Gibson would be a good replacement for coach. Otis Gibson is a good shout. His departure from Yorkshire seems a bit strange.
Unfortunately I think we are stuck with Benkenstein. I have heard nothing but praise from Chilton for the coaching staff. The excuses I have heard him make for this season are:
Player unavailability
Poor value from our overseas players.
Senior players underperforming
Young players struggling.
Strangely I have not heard him compliment the captain, without Keaton's runs I think we would have been relegated in early September.

All these things are true, but the unaddressed question is who takes responsibility for them being true
Somebody appointed the "poor value" overseas players, somebody coached the "struggling youngsters" somebody picked the team, somebody knew the senior players would be unavailable and did nothing about it etc etc
