Contracts Up at the end of the season (or before): Kerrigan (already non-playing his contract out) Chanderpaul Croft Brown Mennie (leaving end of August) Clark Lilley Lester Lamb Guest Only Clark is currently a regular 1st team player in all formats, but may interest other clubs. All batsmen listed are (selectorially) behind the woefully out of form and consequently can't be expected to score a run, Hameed. What's does that say about Chapple opinion of them? Brown can't buy a game in any format.
How many spinners and wicket keepers do we need? So all might go, assuming the regime doesn't change. Although, I suspect the some will be put on long term contracts.
No scholarship players this year, so no obvious internal replacements other than Lavelle who is still at school (this year). 3 batsmen listed there but today's second team only has one batsman trialling (Crawley who is in the academy).

Keep Clark, Lester, possibly keep Lamb and Guest but if they are not pushing for first team places let go, hadn't realised Mennie gone in August.

Always difficult being in div 2 for Lancs but we are getting used to it, do you use it to blood your young lads but who will not be ready to get the club back in div 1 or do you pick the strongest side you can even if it means recruiting players so that you have a much better chance of getting back up, probably a bit of both i would say. Think there will be a bit of movement in and out of the club in the next few weeks.

Rumour that a couple of players want to leave

Rumour that a couple of players want to leave couple at least of players I can think about that the coach / selector does give much playing time to. Of course there may be other reasons or no substance to such rumours.
So five days after the first website "Meet the Academy" we are yet to meet a second member.
See Ravi Patel is leaving Middlesex now that we appear to have released a spinner:
Interesting that Mark Watt tweets "Absolutely loved my time with @lancscricket for the remainder of the season!" after his original tweet saying "Buzzing to have signed with @lancscricket for the remainder of the season". When the DoC said Watt had only been signed for the T20. Did things change?

When they signed Khan think his days were numbered and probably not good enough for four day cricket.

Indeed cheap and cheerful hence two year contracts Gleeson 3 year contract ending 2021
Jennings 4 year contract ending 2021
Hameed 4 year contract ending 2019
Brown 3 year contract ending 2018
Lilley 3 year contract ending 2018
Livingstone 2 year extension on a two year making it a contract to 2021
Paul Allott: on Hameed, Parry, Joe Clarke and the future:
confident in the coaching staff and players. Hugely succesful age group season. But has learnt irrespective to what he achieves at a lower level, he is judged on 1st XI.
Rightly saying overseas players will be thin on the ground next year with [the IPL], the World Cup and the Ashes. But hoping ideally to sign an overseas batsman.
Just signed Balderson and Lavelle on a summer contracts for next year.
Player decisions in the next week or so, but he's looking to youth to take things forward.

So if the club annouce that Karl Brown, Arron Lilley and Simon Kerrigan are leaving at the end of their contracts, is it safe to assume they are about to offer Steven Croft a new contract?

Croft apparently staying He must be mad, can`t a spot for him in any format next year. Lancs will just use him as cover for injuries, same as they did with Brown this year.
