196-4 Surrey lead by 161 level pegging chasing 275 could be tricky

196-4 Surrey lead by 161 level pegging chasing 275 could be tricky think Surrey more likely to have scored 100 runs in the first session tomorrow than Lancashire take 6 wickets. Probably have to bat well and deep into the fourth day, when their minds may well be on the Kent T20 match. Can't afford too many more dropped catches.
Good to see Bohannon coming good. Must feel good to score a 50 on debut. Hope he's not confined to the seconds again like Jones was after his century 2 or 3 years ago. Only the coach know why he was batting so low. Should end up at 4.

Agree not playing Jones on a regular basis has probably hindered his career looks like Bohannon is the next cab on the rank to replace Clark, hopefully gets a decent run in the side until the end of the season, may get Jennings back if he fails in this test. .

Agree not playing Jones on a regular basis has probably hindered his career looks like Bohannon is the next cab on the rank to replace Clark, hopefully gets a decent run in the side until the end of the season, may get Jennings back if he fails in this test. . But Bohannon is a proper bat, and not really an all rounder, other than Lancashire seem to always want to coach all their prospects into becoming all rounders to bat at 6,7 or 8. He needs to be batting at 4. Just as Clark needed to be batting at 6.
Jones given a few chances in the last few years, but probably felt pressure on himself to score another 100 otherwise knew he would be dropped. I still think, the selectors may have taken a dim view of his wild celebrations after carrying his bat to his maiden hundred against Middlesex. Can't imagine Cyril Washbrook doing such antics or approving of it.
Sad as it maybe, it will be interesting to see if the committee judge that Croft has done enough to be given a new contract, or even another match.
68 List A runs in 4 innings strike rate 63.55 108 T20 runs in 9 innings strike rate 112.50 94 championship runs in 6 innings average 15.67 so not a lot after his 100 against Loughborough Students.
his fielding not what it was (although those standards would be difficult to maintain)
Clark or Lamb to come in for teh next match, with Bohannon to keep his place.
