Young Lancashire opener Owais Shah struck a century to set up an interesting final day of the Second XI's Championship fixture against Notts.
In response to Notts' 325-6 dec, Lancashire resumed Day Two 14-0, but lost Taylor Cornall and Danny Lamb early in the day.
Shah then formed solid partnerships with Danny Lamb and Ed Fluck, who both scored 24, before he was joined by George Lavelle and the pair added 90 for the fifth wicket.
Shah went to a superb century during the afternoon, eventually dismissed for 105 from 205 balls faced, including 10 fours and a six.
Lavelle hit 75, before a lower-order dash from Chris Sanders (32) brought parity for Lancs who then declared on 330-9 - with a first innings lead of five.
With the roles reversed from Day One, Notts then had a tricky session to survive in the evening - with the Red Rose making two breakthroughs.
Sanders and Ed Moulton claimed a wicket each as the home side closed on 35-2 with a lead of just 30 and all three results possible heading into the final day.

Two Twenty games against Derbyshire featuring plenty of the squad of 14 who were sleceted for the first two first team games. Morning game didn't go to plan. Lost by two wickets. Performancs by the senior players: Livingstone: out for one off the last ball of a wicket maiden. Jones: out for four from 6 balls Hurt, Parry did not bat bowling wise: Livingstone: did not bowl Parry 1/24 from 4 Hurt 2/30 from 4 (including 12 off the 19th over putting all the pressure on his academy colleague bowling the last: left to defend 6). Jones: 1/17 from 2 Jennings and Mahmood due to play second match (instead of Livingstone and Hurt). live.nvplay.com/ecb/#mda63991e-5fce-4d1b-8827-feb15df17a28

Doesn't help when a bowler goes for 46 in a lowish scoring game. But then he was the least experienced on show.
Do senior players come off in second team games? Highlights from those included in the 1st team T20 squad
bowling: Parry 0/23 from 4 Mahmood 2/28 from 2 (but 15 off the last over - with hindight just 10 would have meant we won)
Jennings 0/33 form 4 batting: Jennings 1 from 5 balls Jones 24 from 27 balls
Mahmood 1 from 2
Parry 25* from 15 (but he needed to get them over the line)
9th over: 1 to Jones then dot to Hameed then he's out, followed by 3 dots to Jennings

Won first game against Leicester Lost first game against Yorkshire, at Blackpool today, raining in the second match. Two debutants in second match: Kurtis Watson (Leyland) and Ali Chughtai (Monton and Weaste).
Rob Jones on the scorecard of the second match, despite being listed by the website as in the 14 man squad at Headingley. Wonder if Glen Chapple knows!?
