Playing Oman in a friendly at Old Trafford on 5/8/19 No doubt in their haste to satisfy their sponsor, and pre-season tour partner, the club has written two website articles on this match:
which is a friendly match for a combined academy and second XI team. There is no further mention, report or scorecard on yesterday's U19 match against Oman nor it is on the Lancashire CB under 19 play-cricket site. The club did find time, on 31st July, to tweet about a reduction in the number of overs in this (U19 v Oman) match at Urmston.
However, there is yet to be a single word about the two 2nd XI T20 matches at Blackpool on Friday 25th despite the second match being the 2nd XI debut for two youngsters. Too bad, if that is the highlight of their Lancashire career. Simply blanked. No report. Neither was there the usual squad announcement before these games.
So far there has been no squad announcements for todays two 2nd XI T20 matches against Durham.
Hopeless communication.

A stand of 198 between Owais Shah and George Lavelle set Lancashire Second XI/Academy up for a 65-run win against Oman at Emirates Old Trafford yesterday.
After coming together at 8-2, the pair batted fluently for 28 overs to put the Red Rose XI into a strong position.
Young opener Shah smashed 129 runs from just 110 deliveries including 16 fours and three sixes.
Lavelle supported him with a brisk 86 from 87 with eight fours and a six.
With the pair eventually dismissed, Tom Bailey (38) and Sam Perry (47*) added some late runs to take the total to 329-8 from 50 overs.
Tom Hartley then stole the show with the ball taking 6-58 to halt Oman's progress, after they had made a decent start to reach 65 without loss.
Bailey (1-45), Graham Onions (1-24) and Jack Morley (1-25) all claimed a wicket apiece as the hosts restricted Oman to 264-9 to seal victory in an entertaining clash.

Leicestershire v Lancashire 12/8/19 to 14/8/19 Kibworth The last regular fixture of the seaspn after that friendlies only Kibworth Cricket Club New Ground is a cricket ground in Kibworth, Leicestershire, England. The ground replaced the original Kibworth Cricket Club Ground which was sold for development at the end of the 2005 season. The New Ground is located directly next to the development which covers the old ground. The first match on the ground was in 2006, when Kibworth Cricket Club played a Leicestershire CCC XI as part of Darren Maddy's benefit year. The Leicestershire Second XI played the Warwickshire Second XI in the grounds first Second XI Championship fixture in August 2010.[1] The ground held its first Women's One Day International in 2010 when Ireland women played New Zealand. Days later it held it second when England women played Ireland women.[2] The ground is the home venue of Kibworth Cricket Club.[3] whose first XI play in the Leicestershire Premier Cricket League.

Onions and Bailey doing most of the bowling for the second team. Arguably that is what the second team is about at the moment, giving the first teamers not in the T20 squad some time in the middle.

Lack of any play on the third day appears to have cost the second XI a chance of winning their group. 8 wickets and a win would have changed the top of the table:
From Cricket Archive: Leicester played 8 105 points Notts played 8 103 points Lancs played 8 100 points Yorkshire played 7 97 points (but drew missing game without many bonus points)
Would have been useful to have beaten Leicestershire!

I guess next week's 3 day friendly at Northern (20th-22nd) will be too soon for an Anderson fitness test?
