Hopefully we will give this competition a decent go this season after barely being bothered in the last couple of season, given it's being down graded to a developmental competition next season involving the Minor Counties seems a waste. Originally started in 1963 the competition began as the Gillette Cup and has given us some memorable moments in it's various guises over the years, having won it several times although seems a long time since we last did. Going back to 1971 though the night finish against Gloucester will never be forgotten That wonderful cricketer Mike Procter bowling in the dark with a wrong foot approach to the crease and a 30 yards run up and John Mortimore being blasted into outer space by David Hughes, seems like a sad end to a competition which ha thrilled throughout teh years by hey youngsters of today lack concentration so the new 100 ball joke is being brought in for the want it instant generation. Criminal.
Any team news will appear here

One thing often forgotten from that game was Clive Lloyd hitting 16 off the first five balls of a Proctor over before they run a daft single to the keeper of the last ball of the over ( a bouncer) and Barry Wood was run out for 50. Mortimore bowled Clive Lloyd for 30 odd and it looked like Gloucestershire were favourites till the amazing finish.
I know I’ve posted this before on the old forum before but dad’s ticket was 50p and still said 10 shillings in brackets as we Dhoni had decimalisation that year. Mine was 25p ( five shillings). Still have my 5p scorecard too.

As far as I can tell, with the players injured or in the 2nd XI squad, these are the available players:
Davies? Jennings Hameed Maxwell Vilas Jones Guest Bohannon Bailey Onions Anderson
Croft Parry Parkinson? Mahmood? Footitt
Balderson Morley
I'd guess Davies and Anderson come out from the Championship game, replaced by a spinner and Mahmood if he's fit. Possibly young Balderson for Hameed, otherwise Croft gets a game. Or they might try out Hameed in some white ball cricket.

He did not play white ball cricket on the pre-season tour in UAE.
As you say Davies must be doubtful.
Croft, Footitt and Parry will play maybe Burrows after his inclusion in that pre-season tour playing most matches (due to others' injuries).
I'd guess that Mahmood is injured. Otherwise why would they not have played in the UAE? Why would he not play against the students when listed in the squad?
If Lavelle and Hartley are playing for the seconds why aren't Balderson and Morley? Balderson may be in the 1st team squad for the RL50 but surely not Morley, who was not on the pre-season tour. He may be injured but not considered senior enough to get on the 'official' injury list.
After that we can only guess (until the squad is announced) if Parkinson, Lester, Lamb, Hurt etc. are still injured
Maybe: Jennings, Hameed, Vilas, Maxwell, Croft, Jones, Bohannon, Guest, Bailey, Parry, Footitt (Balderson and Burrows and/or the walking wounded making up the squad)
Interesting that tomorrow Lancashire are playing three games, this RL50 game, the second day of the 2nds friendly against Yorkshire and the Academy are listed as playing at Northern against Durham academy. That will stretch resources.

13 player Squad announced cricket.lancashirecricket.co.uk/news/2019-news/squad-named-for-one-day-cup-opener/No mention of injuries to Bailey or Hurt so presumably just not picked. No mention of Footitt either. On way back at Notts? Is the injury crisis is over? Only Davies, Lester, Lamb and Gleeson named as injured. Perhaps only is the wrong word. Still find it strange therefore that Balderson and Morley not playing for the seconds.

Still find it strange therefore that Balderson and Morley not playing for the seconds. Just seen that Balderson and Morley are currently playing with England under 17s (played yesterday against Ireland Academy, Balderson 53* and Morley 2/26 off 8)
