Fantastic coach of Afghanistan. I wouldn't mind him at Lancs Two things that impressed me about Trott over the years -
1. A CC game at OT. Quite a bit of rain delayed the start of the first day meaning play only started early afternoon. As soon as the rain stopped Trott was on the pitch weighing up the conditions, first of all walking round the area looking at the fielding side of things then when the covers were removed he was at the wicket looking at the strip and sizing up the view from both ends of the wicket. He was the only player out on the pitch, the rest were back in the dressing room. Because of the weather there was probably less than a hundred spectators in the ground but that didn't matter to Trott, he was busy preparing himself for the challenges ahead. The only other player I have seen do this is Stuart Law when playing for Lancs at Headingley.
2. The day/night CC match at Edgbaston (2017 I think?). Again the weather was pretty dismal, heavy cloud cover, Trott was grinding it out facing Anderson with a pink ball, it was a fascinating battle. Trott was eventually out for 50 plus, I was sat next to the Warks dressing room and when he got back the air turned blue, he went absolutely ballistic about nobody sitting on the balcony giving moral support, letting everybody know how tough it was out in the middle, the fact that it was 2 against 11 and the least that should be expected was a couple of lads on the balcony giving encouragement. Once again I thought this guy is 100% focused on the situation, totally committed to the immediate demands.
I think Trott would be a good shout for coach, would the hierarchy want somebody who might actually want to do things his way?

Could be a good call. I don't see an overseas coach preferring it to making a quick buck coaching a franchise.
The amount of travel coaching an international side can't be an attractive long term proposition maybe he would fancy it.
