A great weekend. 2 wins out of 2. Kate Cross getting her best bowling figures of 8 overs 3 maidens 14 runs 4 wickets in the first match. The second match looked all over in the 45th over with Surrey cruising to a win, and then wonderful death bowling seeing then home by 1 run. Emma Lamb closing out the final over to see Lancs home. .

How often do Lancashire live stream such a match? Commentator called it, in saying the women are coached not to give their wicket away rather than take risks.
Emma Lamb's last four overs 4-1-8-2 plus two run outs, with six singles taken in her last over.
Altogether Surrey managed only 17 singles in the last 7 overs whilst losing 5 wickets.

So a Lancashire Thunder tweet says "Congratulations to all 25 women, past and present, who received caps this evening 🌹"
The Lancashire website says:
Kate Cross has spoken of her pride ahead of being capped by Lancashire as part of a celebration of women’s cricket prior to tonight's Kia Super League clash with Loughborough Lightning at Emirates Old Trafford.
Seventy former players have been invited to attend the fixture by the Red Rose county, who will hand out caps to a number of players past and present.
Current Thunder players Cross, Sophie Ecclestone, Alex Hartley, Emma Lamb and Ellie Threlkeld will be honoured, as will former players such as Arran Brindle and Laura Newton.
Former England captain Clare Connor, the ECB’s managing director of women’s cricket, will be making the presentation prior to the 6.30pm floodlit start.
England seamer Cross, the current Thunder skipper, debuted for the Red Rose aged 13 in 2005, and this will be her 147th senior appearance for both the county side and in the Super League.
The 27-year-old said: “It will be a very proud moment.
“It’s all about recognition. .......”
If it's all about recognition, why can't the club list ALL the 25 capped players??? That must be so simple, if they cared.

Any doubt after Lancashire Thunder became Thunder that they were becoming a franchise based at Old Trafford was kind of confirmed when they released 4 of Lancashire Women's squad replacing them with transfers from other franchises. Nat Brown (playing for Lancs women since 2006), Rebecca Duckworth (2017), Georgie Boyce (2018) and Alice Dyson (2019) all released.

Boyce not being released; she averaged 70+ in the Rachel Heyhoe and 100+ in the Charlotte Edwards last seaon so that would a strange decision rather she has left. Reasons unknown..
