Yes been injured or is in recovery, but he is not due to play before 31 July (for the one-day warm up against Cumbria).
Leaves the question who, if anyone, is being lined up for the 3 championship matches in July, as Williams is only on a two match deal but should play against Gloucestershire at the end of June. Don’t know where it says that Sundar is only available from the 31st of June. By all accounts they aren’t picking him on the India vs England white ball squads because they want him to play red ball cricket for us. Games at Southport and Northants where I think we’ll play 2 spinners Just a guess on my part, looking at the fixtures, probably wrong, I assumed the three championship matches he will be available for were the last three, as they just stuck out to me. Only later realised there were also 3 in July which he might be available for. Either way there are 3 left without an overseas.

Are we going to sign an overseas for the championship run in? Think our position justifies it. We could do with a Washington Sundar clone.

A couple of weeks ago Lancashire did say that Sundar had gone back to India for treatment on his shoulder with a view that if fit he will return to OT in September to play CC cricket.

Why is Vilas still considered an overseas player when he has lived here for years? There are other players who get away with it.

Would be great if Sundar does come back and play in the last three championship games.

I would be amazed if this sort of arrangement is not available for Vilas:
"Karvelas is not an overseas player but is one year away from being England-qualified. He is currently registered through pre-settled status."
From the cricketer.com article on Sussex's latest signing

Probably but doesn't that mean that sentence can be re-written as, say:
"Vilas is not an overseas player but is five years away from being England-qualified. He is currently registered through pre-settled status."
The pre-settled statues is a Home Office term not a cricket term, but it appears cricket accepts those with pre-settled status as qualified to play at county level as a local rather than overseas player. Unless pre-settled status is for EU nationals only.

Unless pre-settled status is for EU nationals only.Think it’s just for EU nationals/passport holders. Got a feeling Du Plooy at Derby is a similar case as well as the numerous South Africans in the Dutch side playing county cricket.
