May interest people starved of two innings cricket, Test match excepted. Ben Aitchison who has played for our seconds had good figures today. I was going to go tomorrow but weather forecast for Monday on Friday showed plenty of rain. Now showing very little chance of rain but have booked a couple of work appointments. Thanks Met office again! cheshireccc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3888111

Good game for Aitchison ; not so good for Crawley
This was the opinion of a friend of mine
Day one
“It was an interesting day's cricket today. I didn't get there until just after lunch as I was playing golf in the morning. However, the wicket was clearly one on which scoring would be difficult and the Cheshire batsmen dug in very impressively so as not to suffer the same fate as the Devon batsmen.
Wayne White, now playing for Devon, bowled better than his figures suggest. He beat the bat on numerous occasions and had a catch dropped at slip. There was plenty of banter (not sure whether it was friendly or not) between him and Danny Leech, the Cheshire Captain, even when Leech was off the pitch after his innings had finished.
As I was driving, I only had one pint - Storm's Bosley Cloud - and was pleased that the price had been held at last year's price of £3.00 a pint and that it was a decent pint too.” _________________
Day two
"I enjoyed today. The cricket was good and Cheshire sealed a well-deserved win. Aitchison bowled well today, taking the wicket of the stubbornly-remaining Wayne White, but the turn in the wicket that Devon's spinners were extracting yesterday afternoon continued today and the off-breaks of Normanton plus the slow left arm spin of Wainwright were too good for the Devon batsmen.
At lunchtime, I went off with a friend to the Drum and Monkey (Robinson's pub) lunchtime. The beer was quite average and not worth the short walk from the ground. The Bosley Cloud in the Pavilion was considerably better in quality and taste." _________________
