Easy to forget he does occasionally play for Lancs... got some tap in the first T20 but bowled well after that. A real handful with the white ball. Yeah, came back well after going for 3x6s in his first over. Think we've under used him in the champo where his left arm and extra pace would have provided a point of difference in a samey attack.

Got an IPL gig as replacement So that's both Wood and Salt in the IPL? A blow on both accounts. Good luck to the lad and the financial security it will give him. I was really surprised he didn;t get a gig in the Big Bash this year after a successful 23/24 season.

Article on BBC website has 13 English players in the IPL, including 4 from Lancashire and 4 from Surrey. Three of the four Lancashire players have been signed from other counties. I think three of the Surrey players (Curran brothers and Jacks) have come through there youth system.

Other differences between Lancs and Surrey is that Surrey have won the championship for the last two years whilst Lancashire have come second twice in the last three years.

When Wood eventually arrives back at Old Trafford he won't be bubbling with any sort of confidence. In 13 MI matches he's played in 2, bowling just 6 overs and going for 93 runs taking 1 wicket. He'll also be seriously undercooked.

“Two year deal sorted” Must have been his 3 and 0 for plenty for the seconds on Monday that clinched it ; it’s the Blatherwick modus operandi
