Apparently the selling point from the ECB is that both Root and Stokes who are big profile names will be allocated to teams however although allocated will not be playing. Sounds like a con job for this soon to be found audience

How can you allocate anyone in an auction?
Who will bid money (even if it's only part of an allocation rather than their £SP) for someone who will be playing test cricket throughout the tournament?
Sounds like the ecb are still flying kites.

They're even saying that the absence of the likes of Stokes and Root won't matter because this mythical new audience they think they're going to attract won't have heard of them anyway. The whole thing sounds like an approaching disaster. It's what happens when the marketing whiz kids take charge.

Wonder if Daniel Gidney will be so totally supportive in the future if he realises the players have so many concerns. Interesting to read that the latest kite flying has the counties identified as working in partnerships yet Lanashire are alone, the other 17 counties are partnered together under the other 7 franchises. Still as I'm not a mother or child why am I concerned?

Judging by the article in the Telegraph the players are less than impressed with it, this could be very interesting as quote Daryl Mitchell, they can't run it without players.

Graves thinks that 60 to 70% of people who watch the competition will be new to cricket

Only because those who currently watch cricket realise how much of a farce it currently is.

Apparently the 10 ball over has been ditched it's going to be 20 x 5 ball overs with 10 being bowled from one end in one go, still crap though

12 a side now when will this insanity end Nothing new. Seconds have being doing that for years.
Just start worrying when the players' pre-match warm up (6 aside so it differs from existing FIFA tournaments) football match is televised and counts for extra runs.

Can't wait for the time for Jose to tell Rashford and co to warm up for a Premier League game by donning pads and doing some batting practice

Going to start in Mid July run for 5 weeks and the ECB are going to spend 40 million promoting it which is more than they spend on the England team
