57/0 becomes 57/3 six balls later. change bowlers causing problems. Now 62/4 after Lamb edges a four then gives slip practice. Snater 3/8 from 4. Still no Croft but Bailey now batting having not bowled. Can't be fully fit otherwise why not give him some overs?

Wouldn't worry about players not bowling or batting March is not the greatest month for going full pelt with a red cherry, game time more important
Josh Bohannon and Alex Davies were Lancashire's standout performers on Day One of the second pre-season friendly against Essex.
On a bright morning at Chelmsford, it was determined at the start of play that the home side would bat the first 60 overs of the day - with the roles then reversing for the final session.
Bohannon and Keaton Jennings took a wicket apiece in the morning, both trapping the opening pair of Varun Chopra (26) and Nick Browne (24) LBW respectively.
The afternoon brought about three wickets - including superb work from Rob Jones to run out Ryan ten Doeschate for a duck - with Tom Hartley (1/21) bowling England's new man Dan Lawrence for 34.
Bohannon then removed the returning ten Doeschate in his second knock to finish with figures of two for 14, as Essex declared at tea on 170 for the loss of five wickets.
The evening session - played in difficult conditions under the lights - saw Davies (38) and Jennings (18) put on 57 for the first before three wickets fell for no score.
Young Essex quick Shane Snater ended the day with three for eight, as George Lavelle (0*) and Tom Bailey (9*) took Lancashire through to the close at 71-4.
Play is scheduled to resume tomorrow morning at 10:30am with the format of the day dependent on the weather.

Bohannon was out first ball. Stand out performance of the day (!!!) who writes this stuff? He is primarily the club's #3 batsman who bowls a bit. Whilst Bailey is argubly our #1 bowler (over 200 FC wickets for the club) yet doesn't need any new ball practice in the middle. Match practice was good enough for Mahmood and Wood yesterday, but not good enough for Bailey? I still think Lancashire are hoping that a long list of little niggling injuries will be sorted by the first proper match so that they don't have to admit there were so many unfit in March.

New season same old silence on player fitness. Of our likely starting 11 you could argue that four in Croft Wells Bailey and Balderson are all so far not fully fit or at least don't appear to be.
Our lack of all rounders is worrying if Balderson doesn't play with Livingstone being absent I don't want to see Bohannon on first or second change vs sussex.

If everyone was fit - so only excluding England duty, I think they would start with:
Davies, Jennings, Wells, Vilas, Bohannon, Jones, Balderson, Wood, Hartley, Bailey and Mahmood.
but they will probably surprise us by playing Anderson in April.
Lamb will step in if Balderson not available. Hurt and Blatherwick cover the bowlers. Lavelle may provide cover for Wells!
