Danny Lamb (3/26) took three wickets in his opening spell as Lancashire's seamers dominated the third day of their pre-season friendly with Derbyshire.
Tom Bailey and Saqib Mahmood took the new ball for Lancashire and the latter started brightly - with serious pace - and saw two tight LBW calls against Luis Reece turned down in the early overs of the day.
The first change of the day brought about the opening wicket as Lamb struck with just his second ball, Billy Godleman (22) nicking off and departing after a combination of Keaton Jennings and Steven Croft in the slips.
Soon after, former Lancashire man Brooke Guest (1) feathered one from Lamb behind to Alex Davies and he quickly had his third wicket in just the third over of his opening spell when Anuj Dal was trapped LBW for one to leave the visitors 40-3 - having been 34 without loss when Lamb was introduced into the attack.
Lunch came at 60-3 and the afternoon session started with a fiery spell from Lancashire quick Liam Hurt (2/11), who claimed the wickets of Luis Reece (21) and Matthew Critchley (7) before striking Harvey Hosein on the wrist - with one that suddenly rose steeply - and forced the Derbyshire man to retire hurt.
The session slowed as Derbyshire dug in, Tom Hartley (1/21) claiming the wicket of Fynn Hudson-Prentice LBW for three as Derbyshire went into the break at 133-6.
The evening session brought two welcome wickets for Ed Moulton (2/14) - bowling his first overs of pre-season - while Saqib Mahmood (1/45) forced Wayne Madsen to chop on for a well put together 78.
Derbyshire closed the day on 208-9 with Lancashire's batsmen set to return to the crease tomorrow for the final day of pre-season action at Emirates Old Trafford.
