Signed by the club on a three year contract.
Opening batsman who likes to get on with it, and said to be a wicket keeper as well.
Sounds like an ideal replacement for the departing Davies.
Thoughts anyone?

Sick of outside signings who we probably won’t see much of anyway. Club completely losing its identity to me

Sick of outside signings who we probably won’t see much of anyway. Club completely losing its identity to me Des, I’m pretty old school as well and this signing means it’s a Welshman replacing a Lancastrian, but things move on. I think we’ll see plenty of him though; he was in the shadow ODI squad but how much more international recognition he is likely to get must be questionable.

So presumably Lavelle isnt't seen as the Davies replacement. Interesting Salt has played 38 first class and 132 limited over games. I suppose a sign of the times....but he looks like a good signing...

I agree with the above comments, I would have preferred to keep Davies rather than sign Salt. Phil Salt seems to play a lot of franchise cricket and I am sure has ambitions of an IPL contract. If Salt keeps wicket which seems to be the plan I think Lavelle is likely to get signed by another county which would be a shame since he is showing great promise.
I really don't understand why Davies wasn't given a three year contract if that is what he wanted.
