Seems odd playing them in a friendly a couple of weeks before we play them in the Championship

Seems odd playing them in a friendly a couple of weeks before we play them in the Championship Jennings, Wells, Lamb and Bailey are being given this game off. So with the arrival of Hassan Ali, and the availability of some of Lancashire's England players... the team that faces Kent in the proper stuff may look quite different to the one that will compete with then over the next couple of days.

As a Lancastrian now living in Kent, albeit on the other side of the county from Canterbury, I thought about driving across until I saw the weather forecast. A dull day today but they'd better get some play in because the forecast for tomorrow is sleet and hail showers with a maximum temp of 5 (feels like 0). Cricket in March, eh?

Hello Werneth, there was a wearisome inevitability in the good weather of last week giving way to this type of drear for the start of the season. Hopefully it will improve before the start of the season proper next week.

I'd like to think it might brighten up for the Kent championship match but I'm not too hopeful - last night on this side of Kent was the hardest frost of the entire winter.
