Lancs win by 6 wickets with 10 balls to spare.
Well done to the old guys (again). Vilas 55 and Croft. 61 NO.

Bit behind here, but in response to the questions over whether we pay Buttler anything, probably gets paid something for grinning on an advert for Lancs somewhere ; it’s the “ branding “ you know. I took some stick on the old Forum when he signed for forecasting he would be a cricketing irrelevance to Lancs. Was I right or was I right?

Yes, Des, you were 200% right. Ironically, Buttler claimed that he was leaving Somerset and coming to Lancs so that his wicket-keeping could be coached by Moores, who didn't stay much longer at Lancs.

With a top two finish now looking at least possible is anyone aware of any reason why OT may not be available?

Lancs win by 6 wickets with 10 balls to spare. Well done to the old guys (again). Vilas 55 and Croft. 61 NO. Always a good chance that Croft would do well at Stanley Park. Good decision on winning the toss: perhaps we have learned from the wrong "autopilot" decision at Northants. Disappointingly careless knock by David, whose batting the crowd were probably looking forward to watching. Something is wrong with Lamb, who hasn't looked anything like a first team player this season. Thought taking a wicket with his first ball might boost his confidence but no: four pies for 19 runs from the remaining five balls. Notts don't look anything like their usual selves this season and will struggle to qualify, especially with Derbyshire beating Warwickshire. All the Bears' defeats in this competition have been on the Edgbaston pudding so Lancs had better make sure not to produce a flat track when they come to OT.

Totally missed this game as I was watching Cockermouth knock tabling topping Carlisle out of the Higson Cup. But comments:
Bailey for Jones - why? Tried Hurt he went for 10 an over but Bailey manages 15. Can’t they watch and learn from Gleeson, who has gone for less than 8 and bowled more overs than anyone else. Was Boyden there? But at least we got two things right today, apart from chase as you say: Wells sent in before to bat Lamb compared with Northants game which was the other way round. But he should be opening when without Salt. And Vilas' first ever T20 half-century for Lancs, in his 74th match (67th innings)!! Decent strike rate of 154 this year as well.

I think Bailey was picked because it was Blackpool, where it normally seams around a bit (it didn't today) and tbf he did get rid of Hales. Agree that the batting order was much better except for Bohannon opening instead of Wells. If Lancs ignore our advice (as if) and Bohannon opens against Durham, he should be told to rotate the strike, keep the ball on the ground and avoid trying cross batted shots over the bowler's head. David has hit so many big shots in this tournament that he is starting to get careless. Maybe getting out for 5 today will focus him again.
Durham won't be as awful as Notts and it will be the same pitch so Lancs shouldn't get carried away.

It was in the shortened T20 season in 2020 when Bailey’s figures at Grace Road were 4-0-17-5. I think it just emphasises the topsy-turvy nature of this sort of cricket. I thought it might be a reasonable idea to give him his four straight off today, but after two had gone for 30, maybe not! I’d rather have him in the team than Hurt though.
Balderson played a positive knock at Edgbaston, but I don’t think he’s featured in T20 cricket for us. A better option than Bohannon possibly?
I know Durham beat us, but overall they’re having a bad time of it. If you read the “ready to go” forum, you’ll soon see what their fans think of them!

I can’t comment on anybody’s suitability for 2020 and don’t want to be able to either but, for what it is worth,I watched a very small amount of the Durham second 11 2020 on June 3 and saw Balderson getting smashed around by Jamie Crawley in several balls of cricket which will have done neither of them any good but depressed me severely, or should I say , even more severely.

It was a seaming pitch at Grace Road, which suited Bailey's natural length and ability to move the ball. Yesterday was the first time I've ever seen the ball NOT move off the seam at Blackpool so I think it was reasonable to include him in the side. He got rid of Hales by holding it back slightly but I don't think there was any point in giving him any more overs. On yesterday's sort of pitch his natural length just made the ball sit up to be walloped over the short square boundaries but he's not fast enough to bowl Gleeson's sort of length. The same happened to Dan Christian when Notts bowled. I wouldn't bowl Balderson in T20: he gets wickets in 1st class but tends to be expensive. However, he might score better than Bohannon, who seems to be out of nick. It's true that Durham aren't doing well and that we threw the game away last week but Notts were comically bad yesterday and their (still below par) score was greatly flattered by Danny Lamb's friendly last over.

Bailey and Bohannan should not play 20/20 again ,Great win by the lads ,There again we will be missing salt livingstone and buttler if we get to QF and again if we make fnals day . I think with them 3 and wood backing glesson up theres not a county who could touch us , Not going to happen thou.
