I'm inclined to agree that T20 isn't Tom Bailey's game unless the conditions suit him and Exile's right, he doesn't have the pace to bowl Gleeson's length. There's no shame in that, there's not many in the country do. In fact, and I've watched more T20 cricket on the streams this season than I probably care to admit, I don't think there's another bowler in the country doing what Ric Gleeson does as well right now, and few if any at the same pace. If anyone cares he must be a shoe-in for a Hundred wildcard if he stays fit.
Liam Hurt definitely looks like he has that bit of extra pace which is useful in T20 if he can get it in (apologies) the right areas.
I feel really sorry for Danny Lamb. As has been remarked upon here he's clearly lacking in both confidence and form right now and yet he is asked to bowl just one over yesterday and it's the 20th. It was Hobson's choice really, but still, tough on the lad. I don't think it can help him that Vilas seems to have little confidence in him right now. He bowled OK in the first innings of the championship game at Edgbaston but was hardly bowled in the second innings. I know from personal experience that if others have little confidence in you it can be really damaging to your own self confidence. Time to back Danny Lamb, or give him a breather and a chance to regroup.
Also thought Parky looked a little out of sorts yesterday, maybe a reaction to being left out of the Test squad. And, again as Exile has remarked, Keaton Jennings looks out of form, think in T20 he needs to stop trying to force it quite so much, he maybe suffering from losing Salt as his opening partner.
Surrey are the team to beat from my perspective. Strength in depth, hitters galore and then Narine and Jordan strangling teams in the middle of their innings, no one has been able to get after them.

how the fook can you play bailey be suprised if he doesnt go for at least 50 He only went for 30 in his two overs😁
Seriously I would not pick Tom Bailey for T20. I think he is an excellent bowler in the championship and has a role in 50 over cricket but in my opinion he is too consistent for T20. I would sooner see a youngster like George Balderson or Josh Boyden given a chance. And yes it's a strange game when consistency is a negative.
I would also open with Wells rather than Bohannon.

Anybody know what's going on with Tickets for the Warwickshire (Birmingham) T20 game? The website seems to be indicating that it's sold out -which sounds unlikely two weeks before the game or is it just another example of the website being completely unfathomable.

Absolutely no idea what is actually going on. A thought though. What building work is going on at the moment? What do they expect might still be going on by 3rd July? They could be waiting to see before selling any more tickets. Or I could be completely wrong.

It was me who said I would be astonished if Lavelle was selected for a T20 game, and I stand by that, at the time we had a full squad to choose from, unlike now. He hadn't done anything to suggest he could play that format better than those playing. He may get into the Royal London squad. I agree we had a full squad then but that squad of 14 always from memory included Bohannon - for his fielding? I just believe Lavelle would have been a better bet, long term, to be in that 14 and so to step up when Salt and Livingstone disappeared. I suspect that he would do better than 4 off 10 in the power play. But the way things are we will never know. Haven't Lancs always selected on seniority? Yes I agree Bohannon should be nowhere near the T20 side. Maybe Lavelle or Jones should come in for him until the likes of Salt return.

I claimed mine when they first went on sale , no problem then, surely no way it will be sold out. Even the Yorkshire game had plenty of seats left.

Notts going from bad to worse: tumbled out for 123 by Leics at Trent Bridge. They look out of it now. Meanwhile Derbyshire up to 2nd after beating Northants for their 5th win on the bounce. Lancs had better watch out on Friday...

I'm making my first trip to Stanley Park in over 30 years for the Durham game. Can somebody let me know if I need to take my own chair.

Did you watch the previous match on you tube, see link for crowd scenes. For once I thought the match itself you watchable and could listen to it, thought Paul Horton offered excellent insight, normally missing from the BBC commentaries.

Thanks Chris. I watched the last 15 overs of the Nottinghamshire game and agree the coverage was good. From what I've seen I would say the live streams from Lancashire home games have been better than the away games. I thought the Durham coverage was very poor and wasn't very impressed by the Northants game either. Bit disappointed that I've opted to go to the Durham game rather than Derbyshire on Friday which looks likes the key game as far as the group positions go now, but will be good to have a trip to Blackpool and Stanley Park.

Just reported on the comms from the ODI that Luke Wood is leaving the Netherlands shortly and should be playing for Lancashire in the T20 tomorrow. Shabby treatment to my mind to take him over there and not give him a game in a dead rubber but at least we get him back a little earlier than we might have expected.

Lancs had better watch out on Friday... If we under estimate Derby we will come a cropper. Their key batsmen are all in form and their bowling has come on since we last played them. Watt is very clever and would be close to getting in the team of the tourney for me. Scrimshaw has serious wheels and generally bowls good lines and lengths, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he doesn't move to a bigger county, probably Notts if recent years are anything to go by. And the Aussie (Kerr?) has found his feet and bowling well.

More seriously, I agree with you Derby are going great, their overseas signing has been an absolute star, in all formats, and of course it helps that somehow they have managed to register Du Plooy (ex kolpak) as a UK Player.
