I think it's more down to how strict the Hundred is for timekeeping, so easier to captain from mid on/off then from behind the stumps where you'd cause delays running 30 odd yards to speak to the bowler.

Anderson 2002, Croft 2005, Bailey 2012, Buttler 2014.
Anderson (2012) and Croft (2018) have both been awarded a benefit. Bailey must be getting close and would be deserving. If Buttler's contract is renewed past 2025 he must be awarded a benefit, surely! |
