Joss Butler completed his stint in the IPL on Sunday. He is not in the test squad for the first two tests so barring injury his next potential appearance for England is against the Netherlands on the 17th June. When will we see him play for Lancashire? Against Derbyshire tomorrow?

I reckon if we see him at all it will be for one game in the Roses return on 8 June.

Telling that Trent Boult plays a test 2 days after returning from the IPL England play a T20 and ODI series against India during the QFs and Finals day. There must be an argument that there is little point in relying on Jos to get us there and then have to play a different weakened team after the group stages. Not sure about David, but clearly Livingstone will not be available after the group stage, rather be one player down than two. That said he may have been useful tonight.

If Joss Butler does not play in the three T20 games next week, I think there is little point having him on the books.

I'm not expecting any changes in the England wicket keeping department or middle order in the next couple of weeks. So what are the odds on Joss playing for us at Bristol on the 26th June? He'll have had a couple of days to get over the jet lag after flying back from Amsterdam and could probably do with a bit of practice against serious opposition before the T20s against India.

I reckon about 1/10 Alan. Given Foakes' form there's no immediate path back into the Test team for him and hasn't he played something like one championship game for us in the past four years? I reckon more likely to see him for the last two T20 games.

There would be a few eyebrows raised if Livingstone, Salt and Wood decided to opt out of the Gloucestershire game after their trip to Holland.

Apparently our non playing player will be at Edgbaston doing an interview tomorrow which to hazard a guess is that he won't be playing tomorrow afternoon

Nice to see the Lancashire stalwart score a half century on his home turf. Did hear a rumour that he got lost trying to find the ground.

The last England white ball fixture is a T20 on 31st July. I am assuming Mr. B. will be involved with The Hundred in August. He's not in the England Test team at the moment though, so in September I'm sure we'll see him turning out in Lancashire's three Championship games against Yorkshire, Essex and Surrey.

Does anybody know why Phil Salt is keeping wicket for Manchester Originals rather than Joss Butler?
