Not my cup of tea but should reduce a game to same time as a footy match. Local attendance at last the test series out there against England was poor If this format helps increase the crowds then do it...

The crowd’s are low due to the price of tickets for locals and a lot of the grounds are now miles from towns.

I can see that working for the Caribbean, as mentioned above, cricket there is/has lost a substantial fan base. Probably a combination of poor Windies sides over the years and youth interest in U.S.sports, in particular basketball, played in same time zones. Meanwhile, back here, I wonder if anybody at the ECB is bothering to watch the recent superb offerings from the tests, NZ and currently India, 35 runs in an over! Eat your heart out "Hundred"!! Run scoring records broken in the NZ tests, brilliant cricket all round. And Test cricket, red ball cricket, has no future, it seems to the ECB. Red ball is the future, it embodies all the elements for which cricket is unique in sports world. The ECB has really no idea, it doesn't deserve to be custodian of the game.
