Seemed surprising that Luke Wood didn't bowl last night, any word on that?

Seemed surprising that Luke Wood didn't bowl last night, any word on that? There was a catch taken by sub (Danny Lamb).

Form is temporary, class is permanent is a much-used cliche in sport with good reason. Absurd to suggest Bohannon, a double centurion this season, should be dropped. However, do agree that the structure of the season and his ill fated T20 outings haven't helped him. If you take his (splendid) double ton away his average for the season is 13.62 with a top score of 33 (before the current Glos game). For a naturally attacking batsman he now looks like he's got the world on his shoulders. The ludicrous decision to play him in the VB has made matters a lot worse.

Seemed surprising that Luke Wood didn't bowl last night, any word on that? Well he’s back this morning, but with two expensive overs. It looks like it’s raining now, so this, coupled with no wickets in 15 overs or so, making a draw and 14 points the most likely result.

Rain stops play with no more wickets having fallen and the already sleepy pitch now as flat as a pancake. Might as well call the game off. No chance of rain at The Oval so looks like Surrey will move further ahead. Not in favour of "result" pitches but it's a surprise that Gloucs, well adrift at the bottom, should produce a pitch tailor-made for a draw.

Somebody on the YouTube comments was having a go at our slow left armer, whose name briefly escapes me as it tends to these days. Pretty harsh I would’ve thought to expect such an inexperienced spinner to rip through them.
On another subject, one thing is certain, with Stokes apparently having said that McCullum isn’t interested in stats, only how attacking the batsmen are, there’s no danger of any of ours getting selected!

Some people have no understanding of cricket. How is a slow left armer, experienced or not, supposed to "run through" a side on a slow, flat pitch that offers neither turn nor bounce?
As for the new "attacking" England, they were playing against a talented but hopelessly under-prepared side whose bowlers were not match fit. This series was an extreme case of an increasingly common problem in test cricket. It's quite likely that India will be under-prepared at the weekend too. On the other hand, "gung-ho" might not work at Edgbaston. The "Birmingham Bears" (Warwickshire in slogging mode) have lost several T20 matches at home.

What "push for victory"? There was never the slightest prospect of any such thing. No wonder the magazine is called "Spin"!
