Does anyone know if there's any material benefit for a player receiving his county cap? Do they receive an increase in pay, or a contract extension for example? I remember reading Graeme Fowler's excellent biography in the 80s and there used to be different dressing rooms for capped and uncapped players, hopefully that sort of things has gone by the board but perhaps there are other fringe benefits. Of course some counties now award caps on first team debut, or don't have such a system, Durham and Gloucestershire for example.
Interested to know if anyone has any knowledge on this.

Yes, as admin says more money...and they get to wear the LCCC cap with the red rose in bloom where as uncapped players they wear one with a rose bud.

A bit outdated for me, we should do what some other counties do and award a cap when a player makes his first class debut.

Throws out strange anomalies: Ric Gleeson, Luke Wood, Phil Salt capped by England not by Lancashire. Hartley England Lion yet uncapped by Lancs.
Going slightly further back Maxwell, Faulkner, Hasan Ali capped but not Clark, Maharoof, Junaid Khan, Du Plessis, Kabir Ali, McLaren, Jones.
