Joins the IPL bandwagon:
Drafted by Delhi Capitals for around 200,000. Should therefore be unavailable to Lancashire in April and May. Then will probably miss September with England.
Lancashire availability restricted to June and July, basically the T20 and up to 5 championship matches, if not rested by Lancs or England.

Any criticism of Salt has been entirely in respect of T20, where he hasn't looked at home at all. In the CC he has been absolutely excellent, making major contributions in both matches. His partnership with Williams yesterday was crucial to Lancs having a total to defend.

Should he not be capped by now - tomorrow if not today? England player normally automatically means Lancashire normally follow suit asap

He's been excellent in the CC this year, T20 not so much. Played more than I thought he would but he'll be done soon with the hundred starting. Jumping about as he does from team to team the mercenary moniker is apt. And thats fine as long as you deliver.

It's always a risk looking into a crystal ball but England's World Cup woes are going to benefit some players who have been on the fringe. One of those will surely be Salt. Hales has already gone, Malan is 36 so he'll possibly be shown the door, Stokes will more than likely perform another retirement act with the 50 0ver format. I'm aware that Malan and Stokes have been given 1 year contracts but that does not guarantee them playing in both 50 and 20 over formats. Looking at next years international schedule and there is a big possibility that Lancs will barely see Salt. April/May IPL, May T20 Pakistan, June T20 World Cup, July ECB order rest for World Cup players, August the hundred, September T20/ODI Australia. That's him done for the season. Only one player I know but an experienced one who is an asset to the team especially if Lancs go down the youngster route..Then there is Luke Wood?

Has a perfect chance tomorrow to begin to establish himself as Englands first choice opener, along with Will Jacks. Time to show what he can do on a more consistent basis.

Maiden t20 100 for england. Batted like a beast after an inconvenient series so far. Good base to kick on from hopefully.

Not picked up in the IPL draft, which I am very surprised at. Luke Wood also. Report for training in the New Year boys!
