Well looks like this season is petering out doesn't it. Best outcome would be a change of coaching staff.

Hants upper order made a good start but their lower order couldn't build on it; Lancs upper order couldn't make a good start and the lower order couldn't recover from it.

2nd game where we have been unable to take a wIcket until 20 overs have gone.

Next Surrey at Guildford which is a sell out..no tickets left...

Well can anybody remember our DOC's stirring speech at last May's AGM? Lancashire's objectives are to win 2 trophies between 2023 - 2028. Chilly really has his finger on the pulse hasn't he! I suspect even smaller counties like Leicestershire and Derbyshire have similar objectives.

Objective #3 is only going to be met in the One Day Cup with Jennings, Wells, Salt, Butler, Wood, Blatherwick plus a couple of overseas on the books.

If we're talking about the season in general, there's no doubt that some disastrous decisions were made, both in recruitment and in letting players go.  Also, the management of the T20 team was very poor.   However, yesterday's match was lost by Jennings, Bohannon and Vilas, who all got out carelessly and cheaply and left the rest with too much to do on a pitch that was getting increasingly difficult to score on.  I wouldn't blame Bell, who was out to a really good one.

if that objective is supposed to be match by match, it will be difficult to succeed, but in depends on the definition of local or whether it means fielding 7 in total across the season, on average in each competition.  Or maybe no more recruitment to achieve it match by match.  Not sure what he means, maybe he chose teh wrong words again.
